Cider Drinkers Get Hammered
In a bid to tackle drinkers of strong drinks like White Lightning Darling cripples the fledgling specialist cider market. A 10% duty on all ciders will cripple one of our few growing industries. Farmers diversifying into the cider market will now be unfairly penalised. Darling has used a sledgehammer to crack a nut.Strong lager is just as much of a problem and all this will do is switch drinkers back to Special Brew and Tenants Super. A better approach is to tie duty to strength for all bears, lagers and ciders.

This measure raises just 20 million pounds, pure electioneering at our expense.
