Now the election is over and Labour in Westminster have turned their backs on the people of Wales and ran as fast as they can into opposition, its time for the ConDem coalition to make us all pay the banking system playing roulette with our money. The total cost to the Welsh Assembly in the first year will be an eye watering 163 million pounds. This cut comes at a time when the Holtham commission has said we are already underfunded by 300 million pounds.
Fairness is however not something we are likely to see anytime soon. 5 million of the cut is as a consequence of an 88 million pound cut in Culture Media and Sport. This cut includes 27 million of savings from the Olympic Delivery Authority. This should have been disregarded in the calculation as we have had no consequential for the Olympics. As usual Wales gets non of the carrot and all of the stick.
This cut is just the start. If Wales is going to grow its way out of recession we need investment. Our GDP is one of the worst in the UK and if we take the full brunt of these cuts we always will. After all its not as if we in Wales got anything out of the boom.
